About

Moulinè Rouge Studio began as a wish - a wish to allow my various and sundry art forms to build connections and bonds between people. I began exploring the fiber arts in 2014 and have expanded my repertoire from bracelets to cross stitch to garment- and quilt-making. I've also developed a more recent interest in watercolor. I discovered that watercolor artwork forms an ethereal foundation for cross-stitch patterns, and therefore I decided to make good on this skillset.I design and test all cross stitch patterns and kits personally, making sure that the colors are evocative and mesh well together, and that my kits provide enough materials to complete.Coming soon: quilted goods, watercolor paintings and commissions! Stay tuned!

Cross Stitch Designs

I began cross stitching in 2017 and dove into the deep end, skipping over smaller designs and stitching a 16"x22" picture. Cross stitching is a meditative hobby for me, allowing me to step out of myself and concentrate. Prior to beginning my work on Moulinè Rouge Studio, I completed four large-scale designs.I design my patterns in WinStitch. After painting a design using watercolor, I scan in the final image and tweak it further to achieve the balance of colors and tones that I want. Once I have adjusted the colors and stitch types to suit my purpose, I stitch the entire pattern, tweaking it as I go based on my own experience stitching it. Only upon completion due I finalize the pattern and list the kit.All designs displayed here are for sale in my shop; click through to view the kit listing on Etsy.Images on this page © Moulinè Rouge Studio 2024. Beginner Designs

Beginner cross stitch patterns offer a point of entry into cross stitching for anyone and everyone, regardless of prior experience or artistic training. Patterns labeled for beginners have 7 or fewer colors and less than 2000 stitches, minimizing the time and effort needed to successfully complete the design.

Beginner & Advanced Beginner Designs

Advanced Beginner cross stitch patterns are designed with the returning artist and the ambitious newcomer in mind. With 14 or fewer colors to manage and between 2400 and 3000 stitches, these patterns solely use a cross stitch — no back stitching required. They are designed to be completed and displayed in the bamboo cross stitch frame, start to finish.

Intermediate Designs

Intermediate cross stitch patterns introduce new elements into the mix. They can have up to 20 colors and up to 10,000 stitches, providing an introduction to back stitching and occasionally other advanced stitches.

Advanced & Expert Designs (coming soon)

Advanced cross stitch patterns get quite a bit more complicated. With up to 30 colors and up to 20,000 stitches, these patterns aren't pulling punches when it comes to scale or or complexity. They incorporate additional stitches as well, providing an introduction to back stitching and occasionally French knots.Expert cross stitch patterns sometimes appear deceptively simple, but don't let that fool you. These patterns may include any number of specialty stitches, a variety of threads and blends... the possibilities are limitless. Prepare for a challenge!

Watercolor Gallery

I am a self-taught watercolor artist. I took my first brushstrokes in 2024 and fervently pursued the art. My passion is portraiture, using vivid colors to bring forth the ethereal essence of a subject.
